No More Heroes 2 Details Slip Out

I wish I could be impartial about No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle, but the fact is that this game has a 100% chance of being the out of control, beautiful, highly metaphorical "mind-fudge" that it is meant to be. So being the ridiculous Suda 51 superfan that I am, I could not be more anxious for details on the cult hit follow up. Lo and behold, I was flipping through the latest Nintendo Power at a nearby bookstore and I had a little fanboy moment when I saw a surprisingly tell all article on the game and had to share some of the juicier details with all of you. Those who want to remain spoiler-free should move away this article immediately. Seriously, I'm not joking... Stop reading now.
As one could guess from the teaser trailer, the plot of the sequel centers around the death of Travis' pal (and fetcher of motorcycles) Bishop and Travis's beam katana fueled revenge against those responsible. Detailing what players should be expecting from what is sure to be his next masterpiece, Suda 51 told Nintendo Power that he would wants to include approximately 50 boss battles in the game. Since the off the wall boss characters and their subsequent battles were some of the best parts the original had to offer, I cannot imagine any fan not being excited about this lofty goal. However, you'll run into a few familar faces with Shinobu, the school girl samurai, returning as a playable character! When the story last left her, Travis had taken one of her hands at the end of a vicious battle. I wonder what she's been up to since. I can't imagine that she's on good terms with everybody's favorite fictional otaku. With so many loose ends still dangling at the end of the first game, one hopes that Suda will answer them, along with raising others, in traditional completely insane fashion.
