Most of the variations are single-player modes (including the monochrome Game Boy version called Tetris Tetris 1989) but there are also online multiplayer modes like a 2-player battle, 5-player sprint (clear 40 lines as fast as possible), and a 6-player battle mode that is the real star of the site.
You can easily play any of the modes for free as a guest, or you can register for the site (which is also free) so that you can submit your scores for the leaderboards and earn tokens to unlock site features like new block designs.
