Ubisoft Press Conference Round-up

ubisoft-logo.jpg

Ubisoft's was one of several press conferences held oh-so conveniently the day before E3 starts. Which is great for early birds and locals, but crappy for the rest of us! At any rate, here are the major revelations:

  • Host Joel McHale lamented the time his children take away from his gaming, while soccer stud Pele and Titanic titan James Cameron were, well, also there.
  • Cameron talked collaboration between Ubisoft and his upcoming film, Avatar. Admitted that most movie-based games aren't very good, but that his film and its concurrent game will tell parallel stories and that the game will have elements built for Ubisoft during filming - over 100 shots of the film in the game.
  • Ubisoft's "convergence and confluence" theme breaks down into four ideas/services: Uwin, Ushare, Ushop and Uhelp.
  • These features will be available with Assassins Creed 2 and the new Splinter Cell
  • Red Steel 2! Featuring Wii Motion-plus.
  • Other new titles: Academy of Champions: Football (Pele's title); Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction; Rabbids Go Home; TMNT: Smash-up; No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle
  • Tween titles will be a big focus, including the newest tween franchise, Style Lab!
