1 Vs 100 Gets Real!
I gave 1 vs 100 a try over Xbox LIVE because it was free, and while it was a fun way to hang out with some friends and compete with each other answering trivia questions, the beta version seemed kind of pointless because no actual prizes were being offered. But all that's about to change!
Beginning this Friday, July 10, Xbox LIVE Gold members will have the chance to win up to 10,000 Microsoft Points and a new Xbox LIVE Arcade title in every round of 1 vs 100 Live. On average, each two-hour episode features between 8 and 13 rounds of play. As "The One," if you can knock out every single member of "The Mob," you can net a whopping 10,000 MP. And if you're one of the last remaining members of "The Mob," you could take home an XBLA title as well as your share of the bounty of the points. Heck, even playing from the crowd isn't a complete waste of time, as the top three scoring crowd members can win an XBLA game. Oh, and don't forget that every question you answer gets you a sweepstakes entry for additional prizes!
I may just have to fire this one up again. Too bad I'm going away again this weekend...

Damn makes me wish I had a 360 again to be able to take part in this. Finally put all that useless knowledge in my head to use.
I can't quite believe they're ready for primetime. I've played a few rounds and it seems to be really broken in a number of places and not in a way that a week of patching could fix.
It's a lot of fun, and I will certainly give it a go this Friday, but I'm skeptical.
I've also only managed to get in the Mob once (and I was then disconnected after about two questions), so I don't know how honest they're being honest about the amount of the general non-live trivia game counting toward that.
