DJ Jazzy Jeff Is My Hero!
Activision revealed today that Grammy Award-winning hip-hop and R&B producer, actor and legendary turntablist (is that even a word?) DJ Jazzy Jeff will take the virutal stage in the upcoming release of DJ Hero. DJ Jazzy Jeff joins fellow playable DJ's like DJ Shadow, DJ Z-Trip, Grandmaster Flash, DJ AM and others, and will also bring along his own set list including two exclusive mixes created by the man himself: Tears for Fears' "Shout" vs. Eric B. & Rakim's "Eric B. Is President" and LL Cool J's "Rock the Bells" vs. The aranbee Pop Symphony Orchestra's "Bittersweet Symphony." I do love a good mash-up!
"I am very, very excited DJ culture is finally getting its due. To have a song in DJ Hero is a dream come true; to be a character someone can pick up the controller and select you and play is probably the biggest thing to happen to me in my career," said DJ Jazzy Jeff. "Music is so much a part of everyone's life, DJ Hero is going to appeal to almost everybody."
Featuring over 100 individual songs with over 80 unique never-before-released mixes blending all different genres of music, DJ Hero is heading for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 2 and 3 and Nintendo Wii this fall.
