NEOTOKYO: Closest Thing To An Anime Shooter You'll See This Year
... Okay, so that title might be a little bit of a stretch. Maybe. You don't see many shooters based on Neo-Tokyo lore. Games like Ghost in the Shell tend to fall in the "crappy licensed espionage title" category. Sad, but true. I'm not even that big of a fan of anime in general, and I still feel a little insulted by shovelware like that.
Enter NEOTOKYO. This is a user created, free to download (as of the 3rd) Half-Life 2 mod that turns your favorite alien face crab ridden shooter into a Masamune Shirow movie. Yes, I know you're all a little excited by that line. I was too. Be you shooter or anime fan, it has something for you.
I have included the full length trailer after the jump. It is cinematic, and in short, gorgeous. I don't really do shooters and the second that I get home I'm reinstalling my Half-Life 2 install and probably dimming the lights and turning on some soft music. Papa gonna show it a good time.

this might sound stupid but do you already need to have HalfLife 2 installed to play these mods?

Pretty sure you just need anything that uses the Source engine.
