New Black Wii For Japan

Black_Wii.jpg

Well starting on August 1st Japan will be getting the sleek and stylish new black Wii pictured above. With all the many varieties of colors that Nintendo has produced for the DS and even the Gamecube, I'm sort of surprised that it has taken them three years to finally create a different color for the Wii.

I do have to admit that I'm a little bit jealous, since currently there is no set release date for the new Wii in the U.S. Let's just hope that they don't decide to start out with the puke green colored Wii in the US, and the brunt orange color for Europe. Oh, and before anyone asks, the black Wii isn't any bigger than the white Wii, that's just an urban myth.

Ooh!
That looks beautifull.
Too bad that even if it comes to Europe, there's nothing wrong with my current Wii. Not going to buy a new one solely for the colour.

Pretty...

Though on a more questionable note, what will happen to people who do buy this Wii when they already have one? How will their WiiWare and VC games be transferred to the new console? Will Nintendo allow transfer of Wii data to the Wii's successor?

I think that a digital solution of an online account would be best. Where one can register their games with a Nintendo account, allowing re-downloading at will. Though with Nintendo's lackluster progress in the internet, this seems too much.

You get a virtual hug for that line. *hug*

Yeah, i am pretty vexed about how Nintendo does not release all the colours at once. I know it is for selling/moving more product & stuff, but for once i would like to see them release at least more than one colour for a system at once, instead of over time.

Considering the Wii was sold out EVERYWHERE for like, the first two years of its life, it's pretty clear why Nintendo didn't offer any more colour schemes till now [what, they're gonna be making millions of black AND white Wii's when just one would suffice?]

I very much doubt us in Europe will get any new colours, though. I don't think we got any new Gamecube colours, I think anyway?

It looks good enough, but to buy a new wii only for a color change, well, i dont think so. Id like a black wii-mote, though! I hope its looks as shiny as it is in the picture.
