Seeing Starfy At Nintendo World

starfy_screens.jpg

The Legendary Starfy came out on June 8 for the DS, but Nintendo has decided to promote the game with a party at the Nintendo World Store in Rockefeller Center. Hey better late than never, right? On Saturday, July 11, from 1-3pm, Starfy himself will be on hand for photo-ops in a special underwater-themed area. There's also face-painting and the chance to win Starfy prizes! Clearly, Nintendo wants to turn Starfy into the Next Big Thing. Good luck with that, since I hadn't even heard this game had come out a month ago. Totally not on my radar.

That said, I would totally go, just to get my picture taken with a giant cartoon starfish. I men, how often do you get that particular opportunity? Unfortunately I'm going to be out of town this weekend. But if any of you are in the NYC area and happen to stop by, please send me your picture! I want to see!

Just heard about this game tonight from my 5 year old nephew. When I said I didn't know who Starfy was, he squealed "He can defeat an octopus and turn into an octupus and then a dragon and then he fights the dragon!". Not sure if he got it quite right, but if so thats one hell of a testimonial

I've been playing the game on DS and so far it's been somewhat of a let down. Very slow game play and monotonous/monotone maps.

@ peteypuke: Played all the starfy games till now and he can take on some costumes to gain special abilities with that, like spitting fire as dragon and so on.
