Shadow of Destiny Destined Stateside

I'm happy to say that a good (albeit weird) title is not only coming to the PSP, it has officially been slated for release in the United States. Shadow of Destiny got the Konami stamp of localization. For those that did not play the Playstation 2 title, here is a short introduction released by developers:

This is an adventure game in which players assume the role of Eike, a man who is "destined to die" and who must travel through time to alter his fate. Players can explore the fictional German town of Lebensbaum, solve puzzles, and interact with different characters to uncover the cause of the central character's demise. Eike's death is depicted in a variety of ways: he is stabbed, pushed off a roof, poisoned, and shot. In one scene, he is run over by a car; both the driver and the passenger appear to be drunk (i.e., they talk with slurred speech and make comments like, "I think he's like a drunk or something"; "Hey wait! Aren't you like the one who is smashed, dude?"). During the course of the game, a blood-like fluid gushes out of an injured creature and settles on the ground.

The game pretty much reeks of Suda 51, but to the best of my knowledge he didn't have anything to do with it. There is no word on a US release, however the game launches in early October for Japan.

This is a really entertaining game. Those who have yet to play it should check it out.

Not too much to do other than run around, finding where to go, but the concept is cool, the cutscenes are very amusing, and some of the endings are thrilling.

It got a European release way back when. I still have it, but I haven't gotten around to playing it yet.

Will this new version have any new features?

You guys are in for a treat, Shadows is one of the most underrated PS2 titles, it lags in the middle though, but persist with it for the brilliant last few acts.

I had this, was released shortly after the launch of the PS2... bored me I'm afraid as it just felt a little empty with terrible animations and character models and was just a tad tedious.

I was so addicted to this game in high school, I got it for PC, and my computer was piece of crap, but it was still a great game. The endings are awesome.
