Kodu Available Now On Xbox Live Marketplace

Yesterday, like a ninja, Kodu Game Lab snuck onto the Xbox Live marketplace under the community games category. I say it snuck in there because it was nowhere to be found under the "New Arrivals" section, but if you tried browsing all games by alphabetical order then sure enough Kodu was right there with the K's.

Today it looks like Microsoft is a little more prepared to unleash Kodu on the masses, since it now does appear under New Arrivals for all to see.

Kodu Game Lab is a game creation tool designed to be accessible for people who may not have any actual programming experience. There are a wealth of options for character scripting and other customizations allowing you to create a wide variety of genres like shooters, platformers, racing games, and multiplayer party games, to name a few options. So now all of you would-be game designers can put your creative powers to work. And at the very reasonable price of only $5, there's very little that stands between you and your soon to be created (albeit somewhat simplistic) video game masterpiece.

On a related sidenote: there seem to be some issues with downloading from the Xbox Live marketplace this morning. When trying to download demos for this week's new Arcade titles I came accross an error "Status Code: 80004004" several times before it finally worked. Likewise, when trying to upgrade my Kodu purchase from the trial to the full version I got the error "Status Code: 8015000a" twice before it finally let me download. Hopefully none of you are having the same problems, but I contacted Microsoft to find out what's up and I'll post their response as soon as I have one.
