Wootini's Weekly Animal Crossing Diary
Dear Diary,
Writing you a little early this week because it's a big holiday, and everyone's going away. Me too! But even though it was a short week, I still accomplished a lot. Well, except for the first day, because it was another Flea Market. I can't stand Flea Market day. You can't go inside your house for any reason because after a little bit, someone will come wandering in and try to buy your furniture. I know you can put all kinds of extra crap around and sometimes sell it for crazy profits if your townsfolk are gullible enough, but I just couldn't be bothered.
As you can see, I got myself a new outfit. The Able Sisters had a burglar shirt in, so I ordered myself a ninja mask from Nook and combined them to be the Narnia Ninja! Here you can see me sneaking up on my prey...
The thing is that I tried going to the city to get my shoes done in a darker color, but the shoeshine guy wasn't there. Annoying. Also, my socks seem to be permanently pink, which is a little off-putting when you're trying to dress like a cool ninja. Sigh.
This was a good week for catching new specimens for the museum. And as a plus, some of them are worth quite a few bells at Nook's, too! First I caught a birdwing butterfly, and that was quite the accomplishment, because it flew really high and was hard to nab. I also set out a tin can and a boot I'd fished out of the river in the hopes of luring a fly, but when I tried to donate the insect, Blathers told me my bf had already donated one! When was that, I'd like to know? Because from the start, I tried to keep my town in pristine condition. Harumph. Oh, I also caught a bunch of beetles that would be clinging to the trees. You just have to sneak up on them really carefully and they're easy to catch. I got a saw stag beetle, a dynastid beetle, a fruit beetle, a Miyama stag beetle and an atlas beetle. Some of them are really big and scary! For fish, I only caught an arowana and a sweetfish. It was a really buggy week!
It's hard to see in this photo, but we had a thunderstorm today. What's annoying is that I was enduring one in real life, so I tried to escape by going to town, only to find the same weather! Every so often there would be a thunderclap, and the sky would light up. The flash of light is hard to see in a still photo, though. But you'll notice everything has kind of a green, glowy tinge. If you looked up into the sky, you couldn't see any lightning bolts, unfortunately. That would've been cool. Oh, but inside the museum, you could see the light flashing in the stained glass windows. That was neat.
Of course, this weekend there will be a lot more lights in the sky since it's the Fourth of July. Thing is, my Animal Crossing calendar doesn't have any events for that day, and the town bulletin board hasn't warned of anything coming up. Can't believe they'd skip such a cool holiday. I remember celebrating it in my other towns. With sparklers! Sigh.

I actually didn't have an axe for part of the week because she took mine and Nook wasn't selling any for a while!
And I totally took advantage of his Point Special on the 5th, buying up the store!
