Call Of Duty Modern Warfare Comes To Wii - No, Not Modern Warfare 2

Wii gamers that have been jealously hearing about the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2... well, I guess there's still reason to be jealous. But the Wii is getting the next best thing. This morning Activision Blizzard announced in a press release that the 2007 smash hit Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will be dropping the number 4 and getting a Wii port come November 10th to coincide with the release of Modern Warfare 2 on every other system.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be brought to the Wii by Treyarch, who did a decent, if lackluster job of porting Call of Duty: World at War to the Wii last year.
Not mentioned in the press release is whether Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's stellar online multiplayer will be making the transition to the Wii. One of the reasons that World at War's Wii release wasn't especially well received was because the online component was lacking the persistent experience system that made multiplayer so addicting in the PC, 360, and PS3 versions. Hopefully Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's Wii release can rectify that, though given Treyarch's track record I'm not keeping my fingers crossed.
