Video: Dream Killer
You might share my difficulty parsing the two halves of this debut trailer for Aspyr's forthcoming FPS, Dream Killer: the narrated opening half feels moody and mature, filled with fog, towers, moonlight and some self-aware backstory by the narrator and player character, Alice.
Then comes the gameplay, which starts out in a similar vein and then quickly becomes a mashup of Chucky-style baby monsters, some kind of drider-esque abomination tossing napalm grenades. I'm not complaining, mind you - there's just a lot going on here. Or, at least, the semblance of a lot going on.
We'll know more as Dream Killer's holiday 2009 release date approaches. I'm keepin' my grain of salt on this one.
