Courtney Love's Twit Snit: Activision 'Smugly Boasting Of Rape'
Say what you will about Courtney Love, the girl knows how to get attention. And make heinous and/or hilarious accusations and/or threats. And get wasted.
So it's possible she was doing all three when she lashed out at Activision for allegedly failing to get permission before using Kurt Cobain's likeness in Guitar Hero 5. In her crazy-ass Twitter feed, the widow Cobain graced the world with such ladylike denunciations as:
ucking nmegafraud and youve got to show for it Kurt LUNCHBOXES< CONVERESE SNEAKERS AND ACTIVISION SMUGLY BOASTING OF RAPE
And:
christ this is beyond comprehension activision are C*NTthe goddammed Lunchbox was it for me i get crucified over Converse shoes i didnt approve and stood it, then spy a lunchbox and nowGHERO?NO!!
And:
this is NECROPHILIC this is VILE please address all calls to my lawyer Kieth Fink Esquire who is FURIOUS And to my Publicist Rogers and Cowa
Ahem. Activision's Vice President of Music Affairs Tim Riley, for his part, told Rolling Stone that Love supplied pictures and videos, approved the wardrobe, and was "actually great to work with":
"Courtney supplied us with photos and videos and knew exactly what she wanted Kurt to look like," he says. "She picked the wardrobe and hair style, which turned out to be the 'Teen Spirit' look, then we went back and forth over changes -- some subtle, some not so subtle."
One can only imagine that Riley is now singing a different tune, but we'll have to see what Johnny Law makes of this if and when Courtney Love follows through on her Twitter promise that "WE are going to sue the shit out of ACtivision."

I game with the Beatles I can understand, they've always been the quintessential pop band and probably started band merchandising. But really, Kurt Cobain merchandising feels sort of scummy. It doesn't sit well with the face of grunge rock, and a man who is rather recently dead, to be used in such a way.
That's all unrelated to Courtney Love's new crazy, of course. Who knows if she was involved or not, maybe she forgot. I really wonder if she's as unstable as she seems. Really we should be concerned about her if she is, not laughing at her.
Yeah, she probably did forget she helped them out. She can't even remember what song she let Rock Band use.
