Evony Vs Everiss: Dev Sues Blogger For Libel

Australian game developer Evony, known more for its breast-laden online ads than for the eponymous game they advertise, Evony, is suing blogger and former Imagine and Codemasters marketer Bruce Everiss for libel, alleging that Everiss has spread untruths about the game.
Everiss has certainly been a critic of the game and studio, and has written blog posts asking if Evony might contain malware, might be illegal in the USA, and simply telling his readers not to play the game.
One can't help but wonder: was anyone reading Everiss' blog going to play Evony in the first place? With ads like that you don't need bad press. In fact, this scuffle probably spreads word of the game farther. At least as well as the PopCap Evony ad satire, anyway. Still, the back and forth between Evony and Everiss continued. Says Evony:
In the digital age in which we now live, online journalists and bloggers - and the traditional media outlets that may rely upon them as sources - must strive for a higher standard of integrity and accuracy. Mr. Everiss' complete disregard for even the most basic tenets of journalistic responsibility have left our company no alternative but to take these legal actions.
Says Everiss:
Why are Evony acting for a Chinese game against a UK blogger in an Australian court? To make it as difficult as possible for me to defend myself as possible. They are using money and power to censor the truth from the internet because it inconveniences them.
Oh brother. All this fuss over boobs? Bring a book.

Um, Evony is not Australian. As Everiss states (in your quote), Evony is some sort of Chinese dev company that is using an Australian lawyer to sue the UK blogger.
I find it amusing the whole time you report this case that the Evony ads are pretty much the only ones I get on this site.
Even if Everiss didn't have that blog, I bet Evony won't last that long compared to other online games whether it's paid like World of Warcraft or not.
