Rock Band Gets Mobile

I was surprised at how well Rock Band translated onto a portable gaming platform via the PSP, but will it work on a cell phone? Verizon Wireless users will be able to find out, since Rock Band launched today on their phones.
"EA Mobile is excited to bring the cultural phenomenon, Rock Band, to the mobile phone platform, allowing players to experience their favorite bands from almost anywhere," said Adam Sussman, Vice President of Worldwide Publishing for EA Mobile. "Rock Band has made its way into mainstream culture, and we're glad to bring a customized mobile version to Verizon Wireless customers. The game includes great features like 'Cooperative Multiplayer' and 'Pass-n-Play' for play with family and friends, and 'Tour' which shadows the life of a real rock star where players can choose any key band position to play."
The game will include 25 songs by artists like Smashing Pumpkins, Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Beastie Boys in MP3-quality sound. You can play guitar, bass, drums and vocals solo or in a band in both Quick Play and Tour Modes. It costs $3.99 a month for a subscription or $9.99 to buy and works on more than 30 Verizon Wireless phones. Since I don't use Verizon, I can't even try it out, so maybe one of you can tell me if playing Rock Band on your phone works, and better still, is actually fun!
