Spelunky Headed To XBLA!

One of my personal favorite independant titles of the year would have to be Spelunky. The title is brutally hard, simple and loaded with secrets, items, and all that little small content that make games awesome. Derek Yu was happy to announce that the game has finally reached v1.0. That means, that it's finally in it's final incarnation. Or is it?
Not only has the game reached it's final build in it's windows platform, is has now been announced that under his own, new game label, Mossmouth, he will be bringing the title to XBLA as well!
Spelunky is making its way to Xbox Live Arcade in 2010! Yep, and it's going to be much more than a straight port of the PC game - I'm planning on stuffing it with new graphics, audio, and other features for XBLA users. With all the other great independent games on XBLA or coming to it, I'm hopeful that Spelunky will feel right at home there. I think it's a cool platform and I'm excited about what I'll be able to do to make the game special.
The new build will feature new content, graphics, music, sound and frankly will probably be a complete overhaul. This is exactly the model I love to see with independent games. A good title free, creating a better title that is sold for a premium. Everyone is happy.

Brutally hard doesn't even begin to describe this game.
It's enjoyable though.
I'm guessing this is the 360's counterpart to Spelunker HD on the PSN?
