The Path & Other Indie Titles $5 On Direct2Drive This Week
Big Download has published the list of latest titles out for five bucks on Direct2Drive in honor of the digital distribution site's fifth birthday. Among many great games is The Path from Tale of Tales; if you haven't yet checked out this amazing indie game now is a perfect chance to pick it up.
The Path is an atmospheric horror game inspired by the famous children's tale of Little Red Riding Hood. Don't let that give you any bias against the game though, because The Path definitely handles its subject matter in decidedly adult ways. In a modern day setting, several sisters are dispatched from their home in the city to reach grandmother's house, given one order from their parents: stay on the path, but to progress in the game this is one rule that has to be broken. Even though it's a horror game, there's no blood or violence, but it touches on many psychological issues ranging from abuse to incest to rape and it conjures imagery that will likely stick with the player well after they put the game away.
At $5 there's no excuse to not buy it, and it's in amazing company with other five-dollar titles also available on Direct2Drive during this promotion.
