Video: Dreamcast's Top Ten

Okay, so 9/9/09 is obviously the day that The Beatles: Rock Band launched, but you might also remember a very special day back on 9/9/99, when SEGA unleashed the Dreamcast upon an unsuspecting (and annoyingly unappreciative) gaming audience. In the interest of full disclosure, I didn't pick my console up at launch, waiting a bit until Shenmue came out, but I still have it, it's still hooked up to a TV, and I will still break it out for the occasional round of Soul Calibur or Space Channel 5.

To commemorate the Dreamcast's 10th anniversary, ScrewAttack put together a list of their top ten games for the system. Personally, I loved Crazy Taxi and I always wanted to play Typing of the Dead (I already had the keyboard!), but I'm not a big fan of fighting games, though I can admit the Dreamcast had a lot of great ones. Still, I agree that Code Veronica is one of the best Resident Evil games a lot of people never played, and I will defend Shenmue against all naysayers. I'm not surprised the aforementioned Space Channel 5 didn't make the list (it's rather... unique), but did they leave off any of your favorites?

Armada was probably my killer dreamcast game. Sure, it wasn't deep, and it was a basic bullet hell game, but it was also a lot of fun, and you could easily add or drop people, making many nights in my social groups a rotating mess of people playing. =)

Oh we so agree with ScrewAttack's No. 1! Rival Schools and SFZ3 kept us entertained for years.

Our Dreamcast is slowly dying and we don't know why... :'(

Shenmue... I hope Ryo finally gets confirmed for S&SSR soon!

A cameo would be the first step towards its IP revival. :-D

But ah, my first Dreamcast experience was from a rented Japanese one [with SA1], weeks before it came out here in mother Europe. And the DC is still the best 'new console feeling' time I've experienced to date.

MARVEL VS CAPCOM 2! when that came out for the dreamcast me and both my best friends picked up a system. We used to ditch school to play. And to this day, I still prefer the dreamcast version to the XBL version. Dreamcast, high school was a whole lot better with you around.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
