Wootini's Weekly Animal Crossing Diary

RUU_0405.JPG

Dear Diary,

This week, I totally met a really famous celebrity. It was wicked awesome!

On the other hand, I'm also totally convinced that Narnia is cursed.

I'll get into it after the jump!

The week started off with a bang as I stopped by the city to see what that rip-off artist was selling (more forged paintings as it turns out) and I wandered into Gracie Grace to see if they'd changed up their stock with something new for the fall. They hadn't, but imagine my stunned surprise to discover Gracie herself standing in the back of the store! I couldn't believe it! I immediately rushed over to talk to her, remembering the good old days when she would stop by my town and force me to wash her car before giving me some crap item of clothing (with the occasional awesome one thrown in). She offered to give me a fashion review of my outfit, so I eagerly accepted. She noted that I'd made "Link" central to my ensemble (well, duh!), and seemed to like it well enough, but added that I clashed and still wasn't totally fabulous. Yeah? Well, your shop is overpriced!

My friend Adrian is totally hooked up with some good contacts. He totally offered to send me something rare and cool, and this week, I got a letter from him with this white DS couch attached. It goes so much better with my egg furniture than my black one did, so I immediately switched them out. Of course, I'm also starting to think that the egg furniture is getting a little tired. Not sure what I'd replace it with, since I'm not sure I have a full set of anything else, but now that fall is upon us, the mushroom furniture seems like a good idea. And I know I've got all of those...

To commemorate Labor Day, Tortimer was standing outside of Town Hall to present me with a little gift. It was a picnic basket, which he said was a thank you for working so hard on whatever it is I do. I held my tongue, but I wanted to say something like, "Oh, you mean like watering all the awesome flowers and picking all the weeds and donating all my bells to building local landmarks and basically making Narnia the most awesome town in the world? You mean that?" Lazy turtle... or is he a tortoise? Is there a difference?

I only caught one new bug this week, but it was a particularly cool one. I was just walking along when I saw a leaf just sitting on the ground. I wasn't sure what it could be, because I didn't recall dropping any items anywhere. But that's what it looked like, the leaf that items turn into outside of a house. But as I got closer, it totally started scurrying away! Crazy, right? Turns out it was actually a walking leaf. My town is totally overrun with insects. It's no wonder my bf doesn't want to visit anymore. Though I do have to say that while I still see swarms of crickets all the time, they have quieted down some. Must've heard me complaining...

The bulletin board outside of Town Hall said that Nook had a very special item on sale, and it turned out to be a moon. Like an enormous moon! It was so cool that I just had to buy it even though I had nowhere to put it. So I naturally just sold it right back to those greedy raccoons for a fraction of what I just paid for it. Which was a lot, but thankfully I had the bells. I was a little nervous about buying the actual moon, but since it's still up in the sky, I suppose this came from some other planet. Good for us, bad for them. At least now it's in my catalog in case I ever decide to make a space-themed room like I did in the last town I lived in. Hm. I'd need the lunar surface carpet and the space view wallpaper or whatever it was called... Wonder if they're still available somehow?

Earlier in the week, a tremendous thunderstorm hit Narnia, with lightning and everything. It was kind of impressive. I tried going fishing, since you catch rarer fish when it's raining. But I had such crappy luck with the fish that I can only surmise that perhaps rain draws the rare fish out, but thunder and lightning scares them away. Because normally the fishing in Narnia is way better than that. And then later in the week, I tried doing a little fishing to make some easy bells, and caught two boots and a tire all in a row! Okay, not completely. There was a horse mackerel in the middle, but that's still crap! I feel like Narnia has been cursed somehow because the fishing is just awful now. Maybe that fairy in the fountain got pissed after having an axe chucked at her head so much...

I think he's a tortoise based upon his limbs. As far as I know a tortoise is a type of turtle but not all turtles are tortoises.

I think of a tortoise as living primarily on land, whereas a turtles lives in/near water.

I think Animal Crossing should get political in the next installment.

Did you know that Gracie in Japan is named Grace and is a boy? They had no problem keeping Pave as it, but Grace just had to become a girl in the non-Japanese versions.

I like my house to be unified by a random-awesome-crap theme (where the moon would probably be appropriate); unfortunately I don't think the Happy Room Academy recognizes that.

Glad you like the couch. :)

My connection is Sam of Hyrule, in this case. It pays to have really awesome friends from overseas.
