Xbox Elite Gets A Rebate
Well it looks like everyone now is jumping into the console price wars. We've had Sony already announce their PS3 slim and overall price reduction, Nintendo's upcoming Wii price drop has been all but confirmed, and now it looks like Microsoft is offering a $50 rebate on their Xbox 360 Elite. That's right, just last month Microsoft dropped the price of their Elite system down to $299 from $399, and now it looks like they want to join in the band wagon by announcing that starting today through Oct. 5th, anyone purchasing an Xbox 360 Elite can get a $50 mail-in rebate.
That basically brings the Elite down to the Wii's price point, at elast until the Wii drops down to $199 next week. This is some good news for gamer's pockets and is a nice thing to see happen in the current recession. With Christmas coming up, now might be the time to get that early gift. Although I'm sure if you hold out until the holdiays, while you might not see any rebates, I'm sure they'll be more than a few holiday bundles to pick up.

someone actually called the store today, apparently from/for Canada, which is only stranger because i live in the southernmost point of Indiana. at any rate, they asked if it was an in-store rebate. and they wondered if NTSC consoles work in Canada, i thought NTSC was pretty much most of this hemisphere? apparently, the rebate may be a states thing only. confirm or deny.
