A Million People Like Guitar Hero. They Really Like It!

Admittedly, I may be biased because I personally prefer Rock Band, but I honestly feel like it's more popular than Guitar Hero right now. But not according to Activision, who put out a press release proudly declaring that Guitar Hero has become the first console videogame franchise to surpass one million Facebook fans.
Really? Look, I know people who have become fans of grilled cheese sandwiches on Facebook. Lots of Facebook users will click "become a fan" of just about anything that catches their eye. I mean, they do add that the franchise has sold over 38 million units total, which is legitimately impressive. But I'd love to know how many of those million "fans" are actually paying any attention to the Guitar Hero fan page and interacting with it at all...
Are you a fan?

I'm pretty sure that the percentage of people who're fans of Guitar Hero who're paying attention to the Facebook page would be/is about the same as those who're fans of Rock Band who pay attention to its Facebook page. I'm pretty sure that that number could probably be applied to anything you can be a fan of on Facebook.
In conclusion: is this indicative of anything?
Also, just for perspective's sake:
Mafia Wars: ~5,000,000 fans
Yelling at inanimate objects: ~2,000,000 fans
Guitar Hero: ~1,000,000 fans
The Bible: ~940,000 fans
Missouri: 180 fans
I'm not at all sure what kind of conclusion to draw from this information.
Yeah, I have to say I completely agree with you on Rock Band v. Guitar Hero. I bought the Guitar Hero World Tour bundle out of familiarity and then just bought the Rock Band 2 disc a la carte. Since then I've maybe played Guitar Hero... once? I just prefer Rock Band's interface and graphics. As for the Facebook aspect, I'm in a group called Golden Girls Make Me Moist, so yeah, I agree that this probably isn't indicative of anything..
I still like Rock Band 2 more and Beatles Rock Band is great, but when I get tired of that GH5 is more than good enough..
