Video: Bayonetta 'Non-Stop Climax' Trailer
Despite all the Tina Fey and Sarah Palin jokes, I really am interested to see how Bayonetta actually plays. Fisting enemies to death with hair, summoning hair-constructed hellhounds, and eventually reclining on a chaise longue that seems to be formed from those self-same locks, Bayonetta seems like a milliner's answer to some distant, bizarre game design challenge.
But the not-so-subtle "sell her with sex" attitude doesn't exactly thrill my gay gamer heart, nor does it bespeak tremendous effort going into game design: for all the beautiful hair-battle-animations and all the drag queen flair that's clearly gone into Bayonetta herself, I hope we see a game that lives up to its stylish action roots - not just a game that dyes those roots the perfect shade of sexy.
