Wootini's Weekly Animal Crossing Diary
Dear Diary,
Another exciting week here in Narnia. Fall has landed with quite the thud. The trees started looking a little discolored, and now the grass is turning all brown. Some of the trees are, too, but others are staying pretty bright green. Hey, it makes the weeds a lot easier to spot, because they're bright, rich green on top of the faded brown grass. I just wish the crickets would go away...
Oh, and remember last week when I sold my turnips, and joked that if I hadn't sold them, the price would plummet because I didn't wait until Saturday? Well, because I did sell them, like I thought, they went up just a smidge more to 187. Sigh.
My friend Adrian sent me over the Japanese DLC, which was this red hat. I tried it on, but with my green Link clothes still on, I kind of looked like a Girl Scout! There's apparently a pattern that goes with it that you can wear as clothes, but while I was in Adrian's town, I didn't bother to pick that up because he had a Yo Gabba Gabba design I couldn't resist!
The North American DLC was a pile of leaves. Yeah, that's right a pile of leaves. Which look pretty stupid sitting on the floor of my house like this. So I put them away in a dresser. Maybe if I finally got off my butt and put out the mushroom furniture set I got last fall, and decorated for the season, it would fit in better. But I'm still lazy...
This week was also another flea market. I don't really bother with them, because I pretty much have everything I want. I get annoyed that I can't go inside my house without someone barging in to try and buy up my precious things, but they don't happen very often, so I guess it's not that bad. I did pop into Octavian's to see what he had on offer, and I told him I was interested in that lab bench or whatever, but he told me it was a "load bearing" lab bench, so he couldn't sell it or his whole house would come down. Whatever. I think I already had one at some point anyway, so keep it. Crazy octopus!
On October 1st, I got a letter from Jack warning me to get all the candy I could together for his visit at the end of the month. Now, as much as I love the other furniture sets, I can't even imagine how awesome a Halloween-themed one would be. So I am getting as much as I can. Nook is selling one piece of candy a day in his shop, and while 360 bells is pricey, I need as much as I can get my grubby little paws on. Oh, but on the plus side, I still have a bunch of candy in my dresser from the last holiday that used it... the one with the big gay bird dancing at town hall. He was very particular about which color he wanted, as I recall, so I ended up with a ton of leftovers. So that'll come in handy on October 31!
I know I spent a lot of time gathering up the points to get that Link costume, but I finally got bored of it. So it went into the dresser for the next time I'm feeling heroic, and I put together my space suit instead. I'd gotten the helmet recently, and thought it was cool, but wasn't ready to stop being Link yet. I can't stand the red shoes, though, and I went to the City to get my shoes shined, but for some reason, when I tell him to match my style, he keeps making them red! Aargh!
Jitters moved to town, and while he has a sporty personality, which I like, the guy looks a little bit cracked-out. I mean, I'm not passing any judgment here, I'm just going by first impressions. Suffice it to say, I'm more than a little concerned that he moved into the spot next door to me. I don't want my beachfront neighborhood to turn into a crack den! then again, maybe it's just a caffeine addiction that makes him so jittery...
I just think this is funny. It's like my Wii is contacting Satan or something...
Like I said, I did pay a visit to Adrian's town, and had a lovely time. Did a little shopping in his boutique and tried some fishing. (It wasn't very good) But it's always fun to hang out with other people, and he even had some new townspeople to meet!
And hey, after my visit, Cube sent me a letter asking me to come back and visit again sometime. I think he might be a little sweet on me. Aww... He did send me a little present, which was a nice thought, but really? Plaza wall? Not really my thing. Good try, though!

Humm, I love those leaves!
I wonder if we'll get them in Australia...
Make sure you have plenty of candy! I can't stress that enough. The town is full of bastards on halloween...they all dress the up to look like jack, and if you don't give them candy they'll take something of yours. For example if you're wearing your link outfit and you don't give them candy they'll turn in into a dirty shirt and a pumpkin mask and you loose your outfit. it was halloween and i had just caught a rare bug and before i could make it to the museum i was accosted by a resident...long story short i didn't have candy and he turned my bug into a jack-in-the-box. just a tip Jack is the only one who won't come towards you...(sorry for the long post, but that bug thing just chapped my behind)
Wait, you'll permanently lose your belongings if you don't give them candy? Or is it just temporarily (like a "trick" instead of a "treat")? That's a really horrible game mechanic if it's the former.
@SZK well, you could always buy them again, but in the case of my bug it was bye bye dragonfly. so yeah, you lose whatever item they take. I'm not sure if they take your golden tools...but i wasn't going to risk it
