Wootini's Weekly Animal Crossing Diary

RUU_0448.JPG

Dear Diary,

This week in Narnia, we celebrated a festival, I nearly lost my shirt in the stalk market, and somebody wanted to move away. But the biggest news could lead to a big addition along our coastline! Go on and make the jump — you know you want to!

There was a message posted on the bulletin board that the town fund had finally raised enough money to build either a windmill or a lighthouse, so I very quickly went into the Town Hall to cast my vote for a lighthouse. I know a windmill might look cool spinning around, but come on — a lighthouse is way cooler. It was a no-brainer, really. Pelly said that she'd have to wait to see what everyone else voted for, by my bf hasn't been to town in forever, so his vote shouldn't even count, even if he did want to put in his two cents. Now I just have to wait a week for them to get around to building it. Hm. Wonder where it'll go?

This week we also celebrated the Autumn Moon Festival. Tortimer was outside of Town Hall handing out wheat bundles to commemorate the day. Eh. It's not as cool as the wheat you can walk through! Still, I'm all about collecting the rare gifts! Oh, and naturally, that evening, I made sure to pop my head out of my house and see what the Autumn Moon looked like.

... and it looked like a moon. Whatever.

I also bought some turnips this week. The asking price was a bit steep at 101 bells each, but I splurged and got 300 of them. Oh, and a red turnip, as usual, so in case I lose money on the white ones, I can usually offset that with the 15,000 I get on the red one after a week of growing. Unfortunately, I guess I forgot to water my red turnip one day (which is insane, because I go around town every single day watering all the wilting flowers like a crazy person), because I came out of my house and noticed it was wilting. Luckily, I had the golden watering can, which I recall being told could bring wilting turnips back to life. Unfortunately, the next day, the turnip had rotted away to nothing, which now leads me to believe that it's in fact the silver watering can that does that, and the golden one is just good for turning wilting black roses into golden roses. Sigh. So I was out 1,000 for that seed. By the middle of the week, the price had gone up to about 125, but I thought I'd see if it went even higher by Thursday or Friday. Unfortunately, it dipped back down to 65, so I immediately took a trip to Hell to check their prices. They were getting 122, so I quickly sold them for the minuscule profit there. Oh, and although I was convinced that my bad luck would mean that on Friday, they'd skyrocket up to 250 or something, I was relieved to see that they dropped further to 56. So I guess I made the right call. Phew!

While in Hell, I was able to thank Adrian personally for mailing me the European DLC, which was a Labrador model. It's awesome! It's like having a real dog in the house! Except one that doesn't bark, or need to be walked, or chew on the couch. Of course, it doesn't lick your face or jump up on you when you come home, so there's that. Oh, hey — do you think Biskit would be upset that I think dogs are pets?

Oh, and the day after my visit to Hell, I got a lovely letter from Jambette thanking me for stopping by. She said that she was including a gift that would remind me of my time in Hell, and I wondered what it could be. A pitchfork? Sulfur? Iron maiden? Thankfully, it was just a citrus carpet. Although honestly, a carpet with a fruit pattern doesn't really scream "hell" to me. It kind of screams "gay" but not "hell!"

Oh, and in annoying news, Baabara, Narnia's most recent resident, has suddenly decided to up and leave. I don't know what it is that drives the newbies to try and split a couple weeks after moving in. I've got tons of people who clearly love it here because they haven't made any noise about leaving in ages. Maybe the new folks feel like we're all BFF's and they can't fit in? At any rate, I asked Baabara not to go, hoping she'll give it another shot. I don't mind her, so I'd hate to have her leave and be replaced by another cutesy one. *shudder!*
