Is This A Goodbye To PS2 RPGS?
The Playstation 2 is a beautiful place for an RPG lover of the traditional sort. Dragon Quest 8, Grandia III, Valkyrie Profile 2 Silmeria, Persona 3 FES, Final Fantasy X-2. The list is endless and full of years worth of quality content. I knew there would be an eventual end and it looks like this time may be coming early next year with Summon Night Granthese: Sword of Ruin and The Knights Promise. It is slated for release this spring and is the only PS2 title in that window.

I still have a huge stack of PS2 RPGs to play. I will be busy with them for years to come. Glad I have the backwards compatible PS3.
Sakura Wars is in the spring as well...
It was an amazing era for RPGs. It's hard to believe I was playing Summoner on the PS2 nine years ago.
The Summon Knight games on the GBA and DS have been very good, so I have fairly high hopes for this one. They also seem to mix up the gameplay style with each new game, so it will be interesting see if it take the Tales of style, Secret of Mana style, or a new style for the series.
