Today's The Last Day To Get Legendary Pokemon Arceus At Toys 'R' Us

arceus.jpg

While I'm sure all you pokemaniacs are on top of this already, I thought I'd remind folks that today is the last day to get the legendary Pokemon Arceus from U.S. Toys 'R' Us stores. Just bring a copy of Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum with your Nintendo DS and choose the Mystery Gift option from the game select screen. Then connect to the wireless connection and Arceus will download to your copy of the game. Note that you can't have more than two Wonder Cards before getting Arceus, so delete any extras before you try.

The TRU Arceus comes in a Cherish Ball with a Rowap Berry, and knows the moves Judgement, Roar of Time, Spacial Rend, and Shadow Force. Also, trading Arceus to a copy of the upcoming Pokemon HeartGold or SoulSilver will allow you to obtain Dialga, Palkia, or Giratina in that game. Man, this game is so high maintenance!

There's currently no other legitimate way to obtain Arceus in the game other than this event, so if you haven't, rush over to a participating Toys R Us before the end of today. Who knows, you might just meet the man of your dreams. Dressed as a Magikarp or something.

I'm fairly certain he's supposed to be a Raichu. With her being a Pikachu and all.

Thanks, I'm quite familiar with the Pokerap. I simply meant that with Raichu happily taken, future PokeDaters may want to branch into other species of cosplayers.

Sure you did. ;P

GASP! WHAT! OMG! I care enough about Pokemon to buy the games and play them and transfer my old guys over, but not enough to keep on top of stuff like this! I'm gonna try to get it today, thanks!

Thanks for the reminder... I knew about this, but I've been in a Dragon Age stupor for a week and a half, so I had totally forgotten about Arceus. I went, but Toys R Us was CRAZY busy today with Christmas shoppers. Wear your riot gear, especially if the store you go to got in Zhu Zhus today.

Thanks to this reminder I was able to sneak into the store at 7 pm, avoiding most people. Then I hid behind an aisle till nobody was around so I could download my secret shame. (Yes, I am a self-hating pokemaniac) haha

@ ougeoman: I DID THE EXACT SAME THING (except I went at 2pm)!!!

I slunk into the electronics/gaming department and saw the big Arceus event sign. Fortunately, it was right next to the used PSPs so I meandered over to it and read the sign in my periphery. After reading the instructions I was accosted by an employee who wanted to know what I was "looking" for (we've all heard that one before). After letting him know, in the politest way, that I wasn't actually going to spend a dime there ("Oh, I'm just looking.") he left me and went back to labeling merchandise. I then found myself a nice display that I could hide behind next to the keyboard isle. While I pretended to be mesmerized by the keyboard's automatically programmed songs, I downloaded two (2) copies of the pokeGod (one for Diamond, one for Platinum) for myself. After weaving through the crowd of preteen girls at the Twilight display, I finally made my escape from the toy wares facility with little to no detection.

While not exactly a closeted pokemo', I would find it a bit peculiar as a parent/employee to see a 22 year old guy with day-old stubble inquiring about the same thing as the 8 year old with missing front teeth. And then of course whipping out the limited edition red/black DS and doing a victory dance for each copy of Arceus received.

Anyone else have similar experiences? :D

Hahaha, this sounds just like me. I was so paranoid, it was as quick of an in-and-out job as I could manage!
