Video: Aion Vision Trailer Teases
Apparently the residents of the fantasy world of Aion believe in visions, and the vision that NCSoft recently released for the game is pretty breathtaking. The trailer above, named Vision, teases at a number of features that could be coming soon to the world of Aion. While NCSoft themselves haven't confirmed when or even if these features are coming, they did have this cryptic message to say about the video:
"The future of Aion-revealed!
Your dreams your imagination becomes reality.
With innovation Aion will make your imagination into reality.
Aion's future will be your dreams made real.
Never ending Challenge, AION."
One of the first things shown in the trailer is the graphical upgrade that will be coming to the game, as they show a number of locales get upgraded graphics and scenery. Next on the docket are some really interesting real-time weather effects, with snow settling and melting on the ground, and even flash floods occurring from rain. To go along with the flooding, they also show some underwater questing and battles. One feature they flaunt that many residents of Aion would probably love to see, is what appears to be custom housing, possibly player residents, that get built from the ground up. They even show the customization of furniture and knickknacks inside the houses. Another addition that will have players happy is that a mount system that allows for people to ride tandem and even have mounted combat.
Overall there are a ton of goodies in the trailer, and I'd be impressed if NCSoft rolls them all out together in one patch (though it's more likely only a few of these are coming tot he game). They promise to have a least one MAJOR update a year for the game, and that they will also have content updates rolling out for free throughout the year too, so expect to see at least some of these goodies sometime in 2010.

Lol... so it took them a few years to 'finally' let us be able to swim?
Mounts? Who needs mounts, you can fly!...is what they said which makes me and my friends chuckle all the time because yeah you can fly...in designated areas usually around towns and cities which kind of 'kills' it so yay mounts.
Visually upgraded? It looks like they simply darkened everything and then spiked up the brightness and contrast, it looks better though sure.
New weapon types and abilities look awesome, player housing is going to be another money sink, I just hope they add more clothing/armor sets instead of just recoloring the same 4 sets and calling them something else. The grand scale battles should be fun though. 7/10
This all looks great but I'm always thinking of what it will do to performance. This is wonderful until you find the new game chugs and is unplayable. We rarely find a game that is really beautiful and runs smoothly. I guess I keep hoping.

That all depends on the PC you have. You can't expect your 2 years Pc to play a game thats released in 2010 ( well the upgrades) to work in high definition smoothly, nor can you expect to buy a PC for 800-1000 dollars and want it to work great in high definition depending on the game.
It looks wonderful and promising.... and very alluring. If I didn't know better I'd fall for it but the mind-numbing grind is what made me quit. My patience is virtually endless. Virtually.... Years in Lineage 2 (and the likes) made me less tolerant to bs ways of prolonging the gameplay. And I say it as someone who grew up playing almost everything the East concocted.
Shame, I really liked it in the begining :(
Putting my hopes in FFXIV
