Wootini's Weekly Animal Crossing Diary
Dear Diary,
Sorry this entry is a little bit on the late side, but as you know, we had a big holiday so we got some time off. Not that there's all that much relaxing on the holidays, what with all the traveling and cooking and obligations and whatnot. But it's still fun! And I couldn't wait a whole other week to update you on the goings-on in Narnia, because it was a pretty busy week. I did mention the holiday, right?
The week started off with a Fishing Tournament, although it was very specifically a carp tournament. Which meant you could only enter carp into consideration. I tried a crucian carp and it was rejected, so Chip is really, really picky about it. I tried catching a few carp and couldn't get anything above 31 inches, so Poppy's 35.6 inch carp remained in the lead. Oddly enough, the next day, when the results were announced, Olivia was revealed as the ultimate winner with a 35 inch carp. So I'm not really sure what happened there. Maybe Poppy was disqualified for some reason... steroids?
Jitters' replacement moved in, and he moved into the exact same plot of land right next door to me down by the beach. His name is Tank, and I'm not really sure why he wears a leaf on the back of his head like a hat. And again, he's another one of the sporty personalities. Why do they keep moving in? Not that I mind, since they tend to be the most fun, but they could change it up with another grump like Apollo. I'm just sayin...
I got a letter from Nintendo that read: "Whether you believe it's better to give than to receive, it's that time of year again. Here's a little something to get you into the festive mood!" And enclosed was a shopping cart! It's even got a little Nook symbol on it. Well, if I was in the mood to do any holiday shopping, I guess this might help... except for the fact that it's not even December, so I'm still resisting the whole holiday thing for a bit longer...
To celebrate Thanksgiving... sorry, the Harvest Festival, I thought I should dress appropriately. And since I couldn't really work out how to do a pilgrim outfit, I went with Indian. I made sure to order the outfit special from Nook last week so I'd have it in time.
Last year I couldn't enjoy the Harvest Festival first-hand, so I wanted to make sure I did this time around. Tortimer was up by Town Hall with tables all set up for a feast, but I did notice a big empty space where the main course should go. Tortimer was all excited to tuck in, and said we were just waiting for the main dish. He gave me knives and forks that were meant to be delivered to each of the townspeople so they could stuff their faces, too.
I happened to run into Franklin who was hiding behind a tree, and he flipped the hell out on me. He had some crazy idea that he was the one who was meant to be the main course of our Harvest Festival. But when he showed me the letter that Tortimer had sent him inviting him to be our special "guest," I realized exactly what was going on. So to help Franklin out I gave him the knives and forks I'd collected, and in exchange, he gave me a piece of the harvest furniture set. The problem was, as with all of the special guests, you have to go find them each and every time to get another piece of furniture, and it gets really tedious. So when Franklin gave me a bunch of duplicates right off the bat, I gave up. I don't even like the harvest set anyway. It's all purple and frilly. Ugh. So I just left him to his own devices. Hopefully he made it out of there safely... everybody was looking mighty hungry!
