Awww Snap! It's a Code... Design... Off!
Indie gaming, retro artwork, chip-tunes... sign me up. Many of you are familiar with Gaijin Games, producer of the Bit.Trip series for the Wii. I know I sure am. RoboTube games hwoever you may not be. They have cerated several awesome flash titles such as Bloxtronk (MochiAds FTW!) plus a handful of iPhone titles. Now what do these two companies have in common? Not much, but the gauntlet has been thrown and now they are doing an experimental game in 24h while at Blip Festival!
The Rules:
- Try to make a game in one day while at Blip Festival 2009 all the way over in New York City
- Drink lots of coffee
- Release the end product to the public, even if we fail miserably
I love these game concepts. I especially love the often weird, and unpolished titles that can result from teams working under extreme deadlines. The word prototype doesn't even exist for these people.
I'll be following the results as they unroll, so keep looking for updates. You can also follow their respective blogs, tweets, facebooks, personal mail, etc.
