iPhone To Receive UE3 Engine

Epic has been making many strides this year to make the Unreal Engine available. The latest news is that it will be leaping platforms to be available for the iPhone.
Epic told the site it has no plans to enter the iPhone game market itself, but is porting UE3 to the iPhone as one of many new initiatives within the company.Rein also said that the iPhone UE3 can be made available to licensees "at some point in the near future," but not as part of the free Unreal Development Kit.
There is even word of moving to another mobile platform. The tech demo for Unreal Tournament has already been shown, though it is only working on the 3GS, as it requires OpenGL ES 2.0.
While I scoffed at Steve Jobs's assertion about the grandness of the iPhone as a platform for games, I am quite curious as to where this will lead.
