Nintendownloads - 12/21/09

smash bros vc.png

This week marks the release of Nintendo's 500th downloadable game for the Wii, and the occasion is being marked in style. The original Super Smash Bros. from the N64 days finally arrives, and considering that many still regard it as the best in the series there ought to be plenty out there eager to put $10 down to replay the classic. On top of that, the original arcade version of Ninja Gaiden, which may surprise fans who missed the game in arcades with its beat-em-up style.

On WiiWare, Eco Shooter: Plant 530 offers on-rails recycling/shooting action as you blast cans with your Wii remote. TV Show King 2 gives the Wii a trivia game show with the option to create your own questions and play online against trivia fans all over the world. Pallurikio is a rolling platform that I'm personally quite excited for that has you aiming jumps with the Wii remote to avoid traps and obstacles. And the final WiiWare title of the day is Happy Holidays Christmas, which lets you send Christmas e-cards to anyone in your Wii console's address book. Gotta love those friend codes.

Even though Nintendo is celebrating Wii downloads, that doesn't mean that the DSi is getting left out. Dragon's Lair, in all of its arcade laserdisc glory comes to the DSi. After conquering Xbox Live, PSN, and the iPhone, Uno comes to the DSi to steal hours of your life playing cards both online and off. Hot and Cold: A 3D Hidden Object Adventure takes the classic hidden object game and brings it into 3D so you can explore rather than simply point and click. High Stakes Texas Hold'Em is, well, a game of Texas Hold 'em for you DSi. And finally, myNotebook: Green is the same as the past two notebook apps, this time in green.

Check after the jump for full details on each of this week's downloadable games.
