Trailer: Dark Void Zero Returns From The Void
Capcom's new franchise, Dark Void, is kind of a big deal. Not only is it being developed into an epic 3rd person shooter for Xbox 360 and PS3, but it's also being developed into a movie by Brad Pitt. But take that with a grain of salt--the project may be as real as the Metroid movie being developed by John Woo or the Eternal Darkness movie.
Perhaps more interesting than the franchise's supposed future is it's past, which is the focus of this trailer for Dark Void Zero, an upcoming DSi Ware game. The trailer conveys, in a Mega Man-style prologue, that Capcom actually developed a game called Dark Void for a dual-screen arcade box. The project was cancelled and the game was dumped. But to coincide with the new 3D remake, the original game is being released for the first time ever as a DSi Ware game. Pretty cool, it's nice to see more "real games" on the DSi Ware store.
Dark Void is due out on January 19, and Dark Void Zero is due out on the DSi Ware store for 500 points some time in January. Capcom Unity also points out that Dark Void Zero will be available for mobile phones and PC sometime in February.

....You think it was actually a real arcade game?
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's a marketing ploy, albeit, an interesting one.
I actually edited out the skepticism from my original draft of this post because I didn't want to be a negative nancy. I'm merely typing out what is conveyed by the trailer. You can take that at face value.
Thought it was a clever trailer, and it looks like an interesting game. I absolutely love that chip-tune music, though.
Also, because I have to...
HAAAAAIL IL PALAZZO!!
I find it funny and a little bit sad that this game is the only reason I'd get a DSi.
I have little to no interest in the console game, but I will almost certainly pick this up.
