Video: Haunting New Silent Hill Shattered Memories Trailer
For whatever reason, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories has been keeping a fairly low profile leading up to its release, which is rapidly approaching next week on the 8th. Less of a remake and more of a re-imagining, Shattered Memories takes the first Silent Hill's story as a base and expands on it with entirely new level layout and puzzles as well as a more detailed character psychology based on how you play. It looks to be the horror game to get this holiday season, and the new trailer just makes the wait until next Tuesday seem even longer.
There's also some sad news accompanying Shattered Memories as it will be the final Silent Hill game to feature series composer Akira Yamaoka, who is now leaving Konami. Yamaoka's music has been a vital part of the dense atmosphere of Silent Hill, adding a uniquely creepy audio touch. Suffice it to say, future Silent Hill games just won't be the same without him, making the significance of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories grow even greater.

The song in this trailer is amazing. God I'm gonna miss Akira Yamaoka. :(
I still can't believe Akira Yamaoka will leave Konami. That sucks :(. Anyway, Silent Hill SM seems to be an awesome game. I'll definitely buy it. =P
I wonder if Mary Elizabeth is tied to Yamaoka, or if the next composer will use her as well?
