Video: Pixeljunk Shooter Water-Lava Level
Like I said earlier in the week, you can always count on Pixeljunk games to class up the joint a little bit. Above is a video for Pixeljunk Shooter, out this week on PSN. The video goes thorough a bit of what you can expect from the title: shooting walls and enemies, creating paths, rescuing little guys, and avoiding lava using a few different tricks, including towing a giant sponge around with you. The graphics are straightforward, which serves the gameplay well, and as a whole are much less abstract (or obscure) than Pixeljunk Eden, the last PS3 game from the developers. That doesn't mean that the game looks boring, however; even thought the design is clean, it's still rather pretty. The water and lava effects seem especially well done, and the music (from Alex Patterson of The Orb) sounds quite good.
The game should be available for download starting Thursday, December 10th, and will (probably) be $9.99, although a price hasn't been announced just yet.

Played this at Tokyo Game Show a couple months ago. It's a lot funner than it looks and I'd recommend it.
