CES 2010: Project Natal Confirmed For Holidays

Well, as NaviFairy let us know way back in November, there's been the rumor floating around that Microsoft has been courting developers to start creating games that use their new motion controller, dubbed Project Natal, for a possible launch of the controller in the 2010 holiday season. Well apparently Microsoft finally decided to let the cat out of the bag at their CES Keynote today.
Since the keynote was at CES, most of the info that Microsoft was giving out was touting the sleek new Windows 7 operating system along with some new features coming to Zune players, as well as to some of their other software offerings; however, at the end of the keynote they started showing off Natal and all that it can currently do with the in-house programs that have built for the setup. They then announced that they plan to launch Natal for the holiday season (read: November) and that it'll be dropped with a number of games that take advantage of it.
I think that as long as all the games launched with Natal are not of the Wii Sports variety, Microsoft will have a number of happy fans to pick up the hardware, but they are really going to need a killer program if they want to push it as well as Nintendo has pushed the Wii. I know that Fruit Brute saw some cool demos at E3, but as awesome as they were they'll need a more persistent game/application to help draw more people into shelling out money for the hardware. I hope they got something good up their sleeves, just because I love good surprises.

This is probably going to be less accurate than Wii-mote! And that's saying something. I'd much rather be holding something in my hands while playing thanks.
