EA Set To Release More Soundtracks

masseffecu.jpg

While some of EA's gaming output over the past year or so hasn't always been received well by customers or critics, their soundtracks have been consistently phenomenal. I quite enjoyed Mirror's Edge soundtrack and my recent play time with Mass Effect has inspired me to pick up it's soundtrack in the near future (even though that overrated interactive TV show makes me want to throw a controller, but that's another subject all together...), so I'm excited to hear that EA is set to release three brand new soundtracks in the near future for their latest round of blockbusters. According to Game Tunes EA Recordings will first drop the synthy space sounds of Mass Effect 2 on us January 18th as a two disc set. Then on February 1st we'll get a brief listen to Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Finally, we'll get to hear what Hell sounds like on February 8th with the soundtrack to Dante's Inferno. This hefty soundtrack is set to bring listeners 41 tracks and clocks in at an hour and half across two discs.

While I can quite comfortably say that I won't be picking up Mass Effect 2, I am a little tempted by soundtrack. One of my gaming eccentricities is that I seem to enjoy the soundtracks of games that I otherwise detest. Am I the only one like this or am I just weird?
