Lips Cools Off In January

Well, Microsoft has never really been all that timely with the DLC announcements for Lips, but I was a little annoyed that here we were in the second week of January with still no idea of what the month had in store. I mean, they've been good about releasing at least three songs every Friday, but a person likes to know what's on the horizon, you know? And unfortunately, this list doesn't come from an official press release, but a Lips forum post, so I'm just kind of hoping that it's accurate. Looks pretty real to me, but I just wanted to make that clear so if it's wrong you don't go shooting the messenger. I'm just trying to help! I'm also going to skip over the tracks that came out already because those are obvious just from checking the in-game store. But coming up we have:
January 15:
"Ring My Bell" by Anita Ward
"Soul Meets Body" by Death Cab For Cutie
"Mustang Sally" by Wilson Pickett
I've always been surprised there's not more disco in Lips anyway, so I'm all over "Ring My Bell." And I suspect that my bf is going to ask me to download "Mustang Sally" so he can pretend he's in The Commitments.
January 22:
"Little Lies" by Fleetwood Mac
"Tripping" by Robbie Williams
"Ordinary Day" by Vanessa Carlton
"Little Lies" wouldn't be my first choice of a Fleetwood Mac ditty (I might have preferred "Go Your Own Way" or even "Big Love"), but it's pretty good. But "Tripping" is definitely not my first choice of another Robbie Williams song. They need to go back a couple albums for the really good stuff. And I mean, where the hell is "Rock DJ" anyway? I mean, really?
January 29:
"Carnival" and "My Favourite Game" by The Cardigans
"Gypsy Woman (She's Homeless)" by Crystal Waters
The Cardigans Song Pack, which includes "Carnival", "Erase/Rewind" and "My Favourite Game"
I take issue with putting out a song pack that includes two new songs and one that came out last year, because if you're a real fan, you probably already have "Erase/Rewind" from last January. On the other hand, I can only imagine all my gay gamer friends singing "La da dee, la da dah" over and over again at the top of their lungs!
