Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Likely Discontinued

A few weeks ago, the blog Coffee With Games wondered why the Metroid Prime Trilogy: Collector's Edition, was getting harder and harder to find since the start of the holiday season. Instead of just filing it away as an idle thought and forgetting about it, the writer actually took the initiative to write Nintendo to ask what was up. The response?
Unfortunately, Metroid Prime Trilogy is no longer being shipped. Having said that, you may be able to find what you seek through the secondhand video game market.
After a second email from Nintendo confirmed the first, this "Collector's Edition" might actually have some value to collectors, as it doesn't appear that the company will be manufacturing any more of the metal cased compilations. What isn't clear is whether the game will eventually get a regular old plastic-box edition once retailers completely run out of their current stock. Coffee With Games confirmed that the other New Play Control titles are still being produced and distributed to stores, so I'd say this is likely, but Nintendo hasn't announced anything yet. Honestly, I'm more surprised that someone working for Nintendo would actually recommend "the secondhand video game market." I thought those guys hated each other!
So if you've already picked up the game, particularly back when Best Buy had it for $20, good for you! If not, you might want to hurry out and see if any stores still have it in stock. Otherwise you might be paying a premium for that pretty, shiny case.
Metroid Prime Trilogy is no longer being published or shipped!? [Coffee With Games]

I'm so freaking glad I nabbed this for $34 a few weeks ago.
That metal case is slick. I'm so glad I got myself one!
Can't seem to find any decent info on this. What exactly is in the collector's edition that isn't in the regular one?
Is it really just the metal case?
@Nexus
All trilogy packs are in a metal case and labeled as "collector's edition." Basically, Metroid Prime Trilogy, the game that includes Metroid Prime 1, 2, and 3 on one disc, is no longer being manufactured.
Ah okay, better try and grab it soon then.
Mind you, I have all three already (every one unplayed so far), but I think I prefer the idea of playing them all with the Wii control scheme.
Playing Metroid Prime 1 with the Wii Remote controls is one of the greatest treats I found in a long time. It's a shame more people didn't get into it.
@Nexus
Also that Metroid 1 and 2 now have same play as 3 and that all have an achievement system as well.
Artwork is also included in the tin case as well.
I'd expect any future Metroid Trilogy will just have the game disc and manual in it.
