Monster Hunter MMO Coming To XBox Live In Japan
Along with the news of bundles for the Wii and Marcus & Dom's honeymoon, it seems Capcom has declared hunting season on giant monsters again. Along with the rest of today's announcements, they revealed the PC title Monster Hunter Frontier Online would be making the jump to XBox 360 sometime this summer for its Japanese audience.
Originally launching in 2007, MHFO is the usual Monster Hunting formula fit into an MMORPG, including slightly larger-scale battles against Wyverns which range in size from "small garage" to "distressingly huge." The usual action-RPG elements are all there, with 9 weapon types to choose from. Rather than simply leveling up skills or stats, Monser Hunter invites you to slaughter the local wildlife in all sorts of instances, collecting hides & bones & sharp, pointy teeth which you then transform into bigger and badder weapons. The persistent online version of the game includes rolling updates--new quests and weapon upgrades are released a few times a year--as well as a massively higher level cap, well above HR100.
If all the above is redundant to you and you know your Monster Hunter in and out, you can still be excited about the prospect of always having a group online to team up with. Some weapons, especially the Hunting Horn (which buffs your party) and the Bowgun (which can heal teammates) are nigh-upon useless in the game's singleplayer, and it's much harder to find buddies to link PSPs up with over here than it is on the subways and at gathering places in Japan.
Unfortunately, Capcom UK has delivered a crippling blow to our Monster Hunting dreams: "As yet the title has not been confirmed for release in Europe or North America." Being as MMOs require a hefty investment of servers and support teams, and the latest release hit these shores with lackluster sales despite a decent marketing campaign, it might be up to gamers buying Monster Hunter 3 Tri to prove how well the genre can hold its own in the Western market.

Some people walk in the rain, others only get wet. And some people can advance in the rain without becoming wet at all . I might see the last category fits good for this text. Whenever I hear about this subject, I feel many people are unable to manage to speak in a diversified and crucial way about it. I am happy to see it is possible .
