So Major Nelson is in San Francisco for Microsoft's X10 media event, but he posted ten things you should know that were announced:

  • The Halo Reach multiplayer beta launches on May 3, and you can access the beta with the Halo 3: ODST disc.
  • Dead Rising 2 will be out in North America on August 31, Japan on September 2 and Europe on September 3.
  • Dead Rising: CASE ZERO, an Xbox LIVE exclusive download, will bridge the gap between the two games.
  • Alan Wake will release May 18 in North America and May 21 in Europe. Pre-ordering the title will net you the Bright Falls Bonus Pack, which includes stuff like Avatar gear, an Xbox LIVE theme, and a making-of video.
  • March 9 will bring the Xbox 360 Final Fantasy XIII Special Edition Bundle. For $399, you get a 250GB hard drive, two wireless controllers, downloadable Avatar items and a standard edition copy of the game.
  • Toy Solders will kick off the Xbox LIVE Arcade Block Party on March 3.
  • Perfect Dark, Scrap Metal and Game Room will also launch this March as part of the Xbox LIVE Arcade Block Party.
  • Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction is dated for April 13 in North America, April 16 in the UK and April 28 in Japan.
  • Lost Planet 2 will launch in North America and Europe on May 18.
  • Look for Fable III in time for this holiday season.

Phew! That's a whole lot of random information, but that means there should be something there of interest to everybody!

I'm more than just a little excited for Fable III to come out.

After reading a summary of Molyneux's description of several aspects of the game, I am a little more excited about the touch system--it is a dream of the evil conqueror in me to throw people in the dungeon, haha.

Not sure how I feel about the lack of a health bar. I'm sure I'll get used to not having an on-screen display, but it might take a little while.

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
