Mike Capps: E3 Will Be "Really Exciting For Fans Of Epic"

In a brief interview with Venturebeat, Epic Games President Mike Capps kept his cards close to his vest about their future plans, but did reveal that fans of Epic Games may want to pay particular attention to E3 if they're looking for news from the company. He also said that they're not currently working on a new Unreal Game, and they might have Gears of War movie news before too long. He also talked a little bit about how to build a successful franchise and didn't once use the phrase "giant meaty steroid necks."
Even if they didn't have anything to show at the conference, I doubt the president of a major game company is going to come out and say, "Everyone will probably be really disappointed in us this year." Still Gears of War 3 is a good bet, and rumors of a new IP keep dropping around, although nothing solid has ever come of them before. Epic Games also published last year's XBLA blockbuster Shadow Complex, so a second game in that series is not beyond the realm of possibility. Lastly, a new version of the Unreal Engine seems due, although with great games still coming out using the current one, and no new consoles on the horizon, that might not be on the docket.
Check out the video interview after the break.
