Nintendo Reveals Hardware and Software Lineup for the First Half of 2010

Are you excited for Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M? Then get ready to mark your calendars, because both games are coming much sooner than you probably thought. At Nintendo's Media Summit today the company announced that Super Mario Galaxy 2 would be gracing systems on May 23, with Samus' next adventure hitting systems on June 27.
Not content with just those announcements, Nintendo went a step further unleashing the floodgates on even more dates and announcements. Some highlights include:
- The DSi XL will release in the US on March 28 for $189.99 in the colors bronze and burgandy. It will include Brain Age Express: Arts & Letters, Brain Age Express: Math, and Photo Clock software, as well as two free applications: the Nintendo DSi Browser and Flipnote Studio.
- America's Test Kitchen and WarioWare D.I.Y. will also release on March 28.
- Nintendo will be the US publisher for Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Sky, which will release some time this summer.
- Sin and Punishment: Star Successor is the official name for Sin and Punishment 2, and will release for the Wii on June 7.
- Monster Hunter Tri will release on April 20 with no online fees and full text and voice chat support. It will be packaged with the black Classic Controller Pro for $59.99 or the game on its own for $49.99. The Classic Controller Pro will retail on its own for $19.99.
- Picross 3D will release for the DS on May 3.
- The Wii version of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands will include 2-player co-op (in a manner similar to Super Mario Galaxy, with the second player using an on-screen reticle to point out puzzle hints and slow traps and enemies) and the SNES version of the original Prince of Persia.
- Max and the Magic Marker will release for WiiWare on March 8.
- Cave Story finally comes to WiiWare on March 22.
Wow. With the exception of the DSi XL and America's Test Kitchen, I want every one of those. Did anyone else's spring and summer just get a lot more expensive?

More Picross? Yes, please!
I just hope making them 3D doesn't make my head explode!
So, now that it's over, does that mean that we can talk about WarioWare D.I.Y.? 'cause it's freaking amazing.
