Vehicle Missions Return To Mass Effect 2 With Firewalker DLC

Almost unanimously, one of the least favorite parts of the original Mass Effect were the vehicle missions. I guess some people just don't understand the finer points of bumping haphazardly across dull, empty alien terrain, barely in control and unable to aim properly. But despite their faults, in Mass Effect 2 I missed being able to drop planetside at almost any time. Well, it looks like we're going to get the best of both worlds soon with the Firewalker DLC pack for Mass Effect 2.
Firewalker adds five new missions to Mass Effect 2 utilizing the Hammerhead vehicle. As Bioware puts it, the Hammerhead "is a heavy assault vehicle that hovers over the battlefield at up to 120 kilometers per hour [about 75 mph] and features a guided missile system ensuring accuracy even during aggressive maneuvering." Hovering means no more falling victim to every tiny crater in the terrain, so I'm definitely on board with this DLC pack.
The Firewalker pack will be coming sometime in "late March" and will be free to anyone using the Cerberus Network. There's no word yet on pricing or availability for non-Cerberus users, but you were a good gamer and bought the game new, right, so you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Hell yes! I am so glad I have the Cerberus network! I just hope these five missions have more story to them than what I played after the end game.
I liked the Mako's concept, but wish they had implemented it better. This looks to be a step in the right direction, though I wish we could have swapped it out for the resource mining mini-game. :P
Ah well, perhaps by the time the third comes about they'll get it right.
