Video: Heavy Rain Playable Shower Scene
Back in November faePuck posted about how PS3 title Heavy Rain would allegedly have a playable shower scene featuring one of the male characters. Not much was known about the scene other than the details of two messages on Twitter, and until the game was released there wasn't even any indication of what character would be the "star."
Now that Heavy Rain is out, a video of the scene in question has been put on Dailymotion that doesn't leave much to the imagination.
I can't quite say I understand the pixelated appeal, but if thirty seconds of digital animation and two quick time sequences for using a towel get your gears going, click this decidedly NSFW link and see for yourself.

Why? Why does this exist? And why is it interactive? And what is with the music? For the game's target audience this just seems weird... Or maybe it's just the context, I'm not sure.
Just going by the music, that was one of the creepier shower scenes ever... made all the more creepy by his polygonal ass.
If it's impossible to take the shower with his shorts on and to leave the bathroom soaked, there's absolutely no sense in this "interactivity".
I'm fine with this. I've wanted a more balanced take on sexuality in both games and movies, and seeing Heavy Rain providing both male and female nudity if they're gonna provide any at all is a plus to me.
I'm not quite sure what the point of the shower scenes in the game are, but at least there isn't only a female one.
If only for balance, I'm glad to see this. We've seen plenty female nudity in the God of War series, as well as others. I feel it's a step toward more equality in gaming; it becoming less of a hetero male dominated funfest and allowing for different POVs. I would love to see a gay male/female protagonist in a game that was intelligent and not player-manipulated; Like in Dragon Age, The Sims, Fable, etc, you can choose gay, straight or bi. But in the instance of, say, Mass Effect and countless other games, straight is the only option.
While I question the point of a playable shower scene as the catalyst, maybe we're taking it out of context by not understanding the plot surrounding it.
And he's pretty attractive, on a polygonal level of course. :-p

Alas, you're right! I'd suddenly heard a lot about the game from several friends and combined with the video I assumed it must have been released already.
Clearly said friends have obtained early copies through illicit means. o.o

I'm disappointed. They made the lead lady, Madison Paige, much hotter and made her behind much shapelier. Though I can't blame the male game designers.
