Video: Project Runway
Atari just released another trailer for the upcoming Nintendo Wii game based on the fabulous reality series Project Runway due in March. Apparently, you're stuck in last season, having to deal with whiny Christopher and arrogant Irina. You do have adorable Carol Hannah and eye candy Logan, though, so I guess it's not all bad. I'm still on the fence about this game. It's either going to be a fabulously gay ol' time, or it's going to be a horrible piece of licensed crap. It could go either way. I like that it seems like you've got a lot of options as far as creating your look, and I love that you can actually use the Balance Board to strut your model down the runway yourself! (Mind you, I'd appreciate better animations for the runway walks, but whatever...) If you don't feel like doing a whole season's worth of work, you can always just jump in and play each mini-game separately, but where's the fun in that? And why add a photo shoot mini-game? They don't do photo shoots in Project Runway... why not save that for the America's Next Top Model game? (The DS ANTM game never did hit our shores, sadly...) Still, as long as there's a polygonal Tim Gunn telling me he's concerned about my use of peacock feathers and glitter, I'll probably be happy!

While I love this show, alot of shows tend to be horribly ported into games. Another factor that makes me worry is the Design focus of project runway. The design process is template based, so the game seems to lack some of the innovation and limit the creativity present in the show.
I love the show but I'm not a fan of licensed games at all. Nearly all of them seem like crap to me. ALso it seems to fall into usual Wii gimmicks...although the Balance Board for the catwalk seems kinda interesting although how it actually translates late will yet to be seen.
On a side note...I actually like Christopher. Well except his nose, reminded me of a Who
