Video: Red Dead Redemption: The Law
I know it's not the most realistic depiction of the old west ever seen, but I love the dirty realism that Rockstar used in Red Dead Revolver to paint a brutal, but gorgeous-in-its-own-way picture of an era long gone. Looking at the most recent trailer for the game's hotly anticipated follow up, it's easy to see that the team over at Rockstar is using HD consoles to squeeze even more rustic detail into Red Dead Redemption. Entitled "The Law", this trailer looks at a small band of marshals and deputies trying to keep order in the Wild West as best as they can. I'm sure I'm supposed to note the game's dramatic dialog and nonstop gun slinging action, but I found myself getting lost in some of the finer details like flies buzzing around corpses and thinking about how the first dentist to setup shop in Marshal Leigh Johnson's town would make a killing. I guess it takes more than just a few pretty sunsets to sell people atmosphere. Redemption is quickly riding up to its release date on April 27th for the PS3 and 360.
Just a sidenote just to Rockstar: Please, please, PLEASE give me a way to pick up this game's already incredible sounding score! Shawn Lee (also known for his work on Bully) continues to rock my world and I want to take the song featured in this trailer on my next roadtrip/cattledrive.
