Video: The Behemoth's Third Game Has A Name: BattleBlock Theater

Way back in the far off land of last March we brought you news that The Behemoth was working on a new game tentatively called "Game #3" (Games 1 and 2 being Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers respectively). As awesome as the name Game #3 would be (hint: not all that awesome), The Behemoth has decided to give the game the more official title BattleBlock Theater (sorry Brits). So what is a BattleBlock Theater?

A story about friendship, betrayal, and a whole truck load of cats.

Having shipwrecked on a mysterious island you find yourself both betrayed by your best friend Hatty and captured by the locals. All of this is happening while being forced into deadly performances. This however, is just the start of your problems.

Wait, that crying cube-head with the hat is the bad guy? And I've been feeling sorry for him all of this time. I feel so manipulated! The Behemoth is just lucky that its game looks to be such a fantastic co-op and competitive multiplayer platformer. And did you see all of those oddly-shaped head characters in the trailer? I know that I'm going to be glued to this game until I unlock every single one.

There's still no release date for BattleBlock Theater, but we at least now know title and the system that it will appear on. Can you guess which one? I'll give you a clue, it's the same system on which The Behemoth released both of its other two games. That's right, Xbox Live Arcade. On the bright side for PS3 owners, there's always the possibility of a PSN release later. But considering that Castle Crashers still hasn't made its way to Sony's console, any potential PSN release would probably be much, much later.

It's a shame about Behemoth still taking it's time with Castle Crashers and bringing it to the PS3. I was a huge fan of Dan Paladin's animations on Newgrounds and enjoyed Alien Hominid. I was a bit upset they gave exclusivity to the Xbox for CC but I figured it was mostly just for the ease of developing the game for the console and figured it might just come out for PS3. I was right (though it took longer than I thought) and shortly after the announcement, I hoped to see it soon.

I should've realized that with the length of time it took them to release the co-op multiplayer patch for the 360, that development time for the PS3 port would be just as long, if not longer. *le sigh*

And girls who like girls who like rumble packs!
