Yakuza 4 Demo Up Next Week
Take heart, Sega faithful! Even though Yakuza 3 is a week and a half away from its release in the US, you can actually be playing another new Yakuza game in less time than that. How, you say? Through the magic of the internet!
Sega and Sony are using the latest in voice-acting-vectors, gang-warfare-firewalls, and hostess-club-hotseats to deliver a playable version of Yakuza 4 to your doorstep next Friday, March 5, on PSN Japan. These are all technologies beyond the ken of mortals, but I think with four playable characters and a ping-pong minigame in the demo alone, Sega has a handle on what they're doing.
As yet, we still don't know if Yakuza 4 will be releasing outside of Japan - given how long it took them to confirm the third installment, it likely depends heavily on how well that game sells as to whether we'll get the courtesy of a translation for this one.
If you want to help make it worth Sega's while, look into getting Yakuza 3 when it hits: March 9 in the US and March 12 in Europe.
