Zeno Clash On Store Shelves
Eventually, many of the indie scene's greatest games make it to retail somehow. World of Goo came to see shelf space in 2008, Trine went gold in the middle of last year, and Braid just saw the inside of a box last month. Now, gamers who want a little less puzzling and a little more beating dudes up can finally go offline and into a brick-and-mortar store, as Zeno Clash is available in a delightful cardboard format.
We've already delivered a rundown of the game's unique art style and storyline, and the first-person-brawler gameplay is varied enough to make it a truly unique experience within the Source engine. The publishing is being handled by Tripwire Interactive, the developers of Killing Floor and once an indie startup themselves.
Retail releases are a joy, since they allow a whole new set of eyes to land on unique titles like these which would otherwise only see success through hardcore gaming publications and word of mouth. It's also a lot easier to surprise a loved one or partner with a gift of a box-copy rather than emailing them a downloadable code.
Zeno Clash will put you back $19.99 in its physical form. Console gamers can look forward to Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition this March, including new content and co-op modes.
